Voucher Redemption and Calendar

Hi there,

The form below is to collect relevant information from you so we can stay in touch whilst respecting your privacy.
It also helps us establish the type of charters you would like and commits you to nothing.

You can also choose to receive charter reports, specials and availability.

Please add you details below:

Autumn, Winter and Spring are all great times for snapper fishing. The fishing can be stunning with big workups and loads of fish, birds, dolphins and whales. Just yesterday our charter saw 8 whales. The fish are further out during this period so we recommend longer trips which are only another $10 per hour. We actually make less from this as it means we can only take one charter per day but it is aimed at making your trip a great one so you come back next time.

Come late January to April the fish will be closer and a 6 hour trip is a viable option from West Haven. The fishing then is less of a spectacle but it can still be very good. Long duration trips begin from Westhaven in November.

If you have a group of 20 or more or you are happy to pay an upgrade fee then you can book an exclusive charter at a time that suits you. Just email andrew@ultimatecharters.co.nz

The only reason for the different locations is that we put our boats in the best spots given the time of year. This makes an enormous difference to the fishing.

Ultimate Charter fishing report 24-08-2011

Hi.

It's looking like another awesome weekend is on it's way and it's a great opportunity to get out amongst the workups of Dolphins, Gannets, Snapper and Kahawai all having a field day feeding on Sardines and Pilchards.
There's nothing I like more than getting out on the a mirror calm day that is rippled only by dive bombing Gannets from above and a wide variety of fish and mammals from below. The poor bait fish have no where to hide and tons of them must be consumed everyday in the Hauraki Gulf alone.

Yes our gulf is a real hot spot over the Autumn, Winter and Spring with some truly spectacular sights and events that are uncommon in most other places. The combination of currents, trenches, Islands and temperatures in the Hauraki Gulf amalgamate to form a unique food rich environment that sustains over sixty resident whales along with thousands of dolphins and vast numbers of snapper along with Kahawai, kingfish and many other exciting fish.

Seeing and being close to the spectacle of thousands of natures suicide bombers (Gannets. They eventually die of starvation caused by blindness which is in turn is caused by hitting the water at extreme speeds) going in along with natures Navy (Whales, Dolphins and all predatory fish including snapper) attacking from below is an amazing spectacle and is fortunately right on our door step. The really cool thing is that the Snapper and other fish happily share the water with the Whales and Dolphins so contradictory to some beliefs the snapper are not scared away by the Dolphins and they are often prolific right at the centre of a Dolphin/Whale induced workup.

This action is at it's best over autumn, winter and spring. It does mean you have to go further but the rewards can be huge.

The coming weekend is looking fantastic. We have spaces available so if you would like to join us contact andrew@ultimatecharters.co.nz or fill in our form later in this blog.
